Frequently Asked Questions

If you seek to bring simplicity to complex family governance and financial structures, then Argos Family Office is for you.

Our exceptional service level significantly exceeds that of a typical multi-family office. The Argos staffing model is unmatched in terms of breadth and depth. Each family has a range of dedicated full-time professionals, including tax specialists, estate planning and trust lawyers, insurance experts, accountants, IT professionals, investment advisors, private investment professionals, and more, who work collaboratively on the family’s most important issues.

Argos eliminates the burden of managing the staff and operations of a single-family office. In addition, our team brings experience from working with similarly situated families so that when an issue arises, we have likely seen it. Our families learn from other families’ activities without compromising confidentiality. This collective shared experience enables us to effectively address questions. For example,

  • Private plane ownership versus chartering,
  • Wealth transfer best practices,
  • Pro and cons of prenups,
  • Donor advised funds vs a private family foundation and more.

Argos Capital Partners, LLC (ACAP) provides exclusive investment management services to the Argos families.

No. Most Argos families are located outside Missouri.

We forecast and manage cash needs to cover short-term expenses while maximizing long-term investment potential, including working with lenders when needed. The goal is to optimize the management of your balance sheet.

Continuously. Our deep understanding of each family’s finances allows us to deliver real-time, proactive tax strategies that results in significantly lower taxes.

Argos is truly unique in its approach to managing all the assets that are not investment assets such as homes, planes, boats, burial plots and art. We proactively manage operational needs around staffing, insurance (coverage and claims) and other costs associated with personal assets. Argos also inventories assets and provides transaction support for the acquisition, financing, ongoing management, and disposition of assets.

Fees are based on net worth, with a minimum for the first $100M and step-downs to 0.05% above $1B. Additional services like tax preparation and filing, trustee roles, or private investments sourced by Argos Capital Partners may incur incremental fees.

Adding a new family can take several months with significant time spent onboarding thereafter. As a result, Argos only accepts a new family once every year or two.
